FAQ

How do I book an appointment?

Just click on the Book Online link in the menu and select the service you want then select the date and time you want.  It's that easy!  You'll get a link for the virtual waiting room before the visit and Dr. Smith will see your child.

Who can be seen by Dr. Smith?

Dr. Smith is a pediatrician and typically sees children and young adults up to age 21.  He may see you if you are a little older than that on a case-by-case basis.

Where is Dr. Smith licensed?

Currently, Dr. Smith is licensed only in Nevada and North Carolina.  You don't have to be a resident of those states to book an appointment, but you do have to physically be in one of those states at the time of the appointment.

What kind of issues will Dr. Smith see virtually?

There are limitations to what can be done online.  Some issues require a physical examination, but Dr. Smith has over 20 years of clinical experience and can handle most problems based on asking you and your child questions and via visual inspection over the webcam.  If he can't help, Dr. Smith will let you know the next best step.  From sick visits to consults to second opinions, Dr. Smith is here to ease your worries and give you and your family guidance.

Can I get my child's medications refilled by Dr. Smith?

Telemedicine should not replace your child's regular physician visits, especially for ongoing or chronic conditions.  But, if you are running low on a medication and can't see your doctor before it runs out, Dr. Smith may give a small refill in order to help your child make it to the next appointment.  Some EXCEPTIONS to this are insulin, diabetic supplies, stimulants for ADHD, and all controlled substances.

Will Solution Pediatrics take my insurance?

Solution Pediatrics is self-pay only and accepts online credit and debit card payments. However, services are reasonably priced and for most visits, the cost is equivalent to an office visit co-pay and is much lower than what you would pay for an urgent care or emergency department bill.

Can Solution Pediatrics be my child's regular doctor?

It is perfectly fine to book with Dr. Smith as often as you would like, but telemedicine visits cannot replace your child's primary care physician.  There should be someone who can see your child regularly and do a standard physical exam annually.  Solution Pediatrics is happy to be there for any other need.
